Introduction to the Incidents
Seattle police are investigating a series of shootings that occurred in the early morning hours, leaving three people injured. The incidents took place at different locations throughout the city, including the Mount Baker Transit Station, Aurora Avenue North, and the SODO district. The victims, aged 26, 29, and 38, suffered non-life-threatening gunshot wounds to their legs and back. The Seattle Police Department (SPD) is working to determine the circumstances surrounding the shootings and to identify the suspects.

The First Incident
The first incident occurred at around 1:40 a.m. when patrol officers responded to Harborview Medical Center (HMC) to interview a 38-year-old victim who had been shot in the leg. The victim told police that he was at the Mount Baker Transit Station around midnight when he heard gunfire and felt pain, realizing he had been shot. The victim’s friend drove him to HMC and dropped him off, and hospital security retained video footage of the drop-off. The SPD notified Sound Transit Police about the shooting and asked them to retain footage of the transit center and search for evidence. The incident is being investigated by the Homicide and Assault Unit, and no arrests have been made.

The Second Incident
The second incident occurred at around 5:15 a.m. when patrol officers responded to reports of gunfire near North 128th Street and Aurora Avenue North. A short time later, a 29-year-old victim arrived at Northwest Hospital (NWH) with a gunshot wound to her leg. The victim told officers that she was working on Aurora and speaking to a potential customer when she heard an argument followed by nearby gunshots. While running away from the gunfire, she was shot in the leg. The victim flagged down a passing motorist and got a ride to NWH. Officers found the shooting scene, including multiple shell casings and a small blood trail belonging to the victim, and processed the scene. The Real Time Crime Center found relevant video evidence, and the incident is being investigated by the GVRU.

The Third Incident
The third incident occurred at around 6:20 a.m. when patrol officers responded to HMC again and met with a 26-year-old victim suffering from gunshot wounds to the leg and back. The victim told police that he was standing outside a Hookah Lounge in the SODO district when he was struck from behind by unknown suspects. While running away from the suspects, he was shot in the back and leg. The victim was driven to HMC by an unknown person and dropped off at a nearby gas station. He managed to find the HMC emergency department a couple of blocks away. The victim was uncooperative with officers and claimed he did not know the area due to recently arriving in Seattle from Arizona. The patrol sergeant notified detectives of the incident, and the case is being investigated by the GVRU.

Ongoing Investigations
The SPD is continuing to investigate the three incidents, with the Homicide and Assault Unit and the GVRU working to determine the circumstances surrounding the shootings and to identify the suspects. The incidents are being treated as separate cases, and no arrests have been made. The SPD is urging anyone with information about the shootings to come forward and assist in the investigations. The incidents highlight the ongoing issue of gun violence in Seattle, and the SPD is working to address the problem and keep the community safe. The investigations are ongoing, and the SPD will provide updates as more information becomes available.
